Winners Of AIHS Youth Competition Visit Family Homes Funds

Winners of the 2021 Youth competition on Affordable Housing Designs and Ideas have met with the projects department of Family Homes Funds, (FHF) on the request of the Managing Director.

Acting General Manager of Projects, Family Homes Funds, Dr. Said Alkali who interacted with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners, highlighted that the FHF is a housing finance institution supporting the construction of affordable and acceptable houses all over the country.

He emphasized the need for creativity and development of new housing designs and ideas that does not cost more than two million naira while encouraging the youths to bring their fresh ideas and partner with family homes funds to deliver low-cost houses that would be expected to sell for as low as two million naira for low income Nigerians.

He assured the winners that all their ideas and designs would be implemented, saying new houses would be constructed between now and next year using some of their housing designs.

While stressing the need for collaboration with the young professionals, he also noted that the FHF has over eight trillion naira capital solely committed to building affordable and sustainable houses, and also solving housing deficiencies.

He emphasized the role of professionals in the construction industry, saying professionalism remains the bedrock of any sustainable construction business.

He urged the participants to leverage on the relationship they have built, while constantly synergizing in initiating greater ideas capable of solving housing challenges in the country.

He advised them to acquaint themselves with latest construction models, using various technological approaches in carrying out their day-today activities.

Dr. Said thanked the organizers, jury and partners of the competition for the idea of catching them young in the housing sector to boost the advocacy for affordable homes, collaboration and innovation.
