The Federal Morgage Bank of Nigeria, FMBN has concluded plans to go digital in it’s operations, the banks Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa has revealed.
Dangiwa noted that the bank is in the process of process of migrating its manual operations to digital.
The FMBN boss who spoke during a courtesy visit to the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS Headquarters in Abuja, said that the bank has made some progress towards successful deployment of its Core Banking Software Application.
Dangiwa was accompanied by a team comprising members of the Bank’s Core Banking Application Deployment Team, ICT Consultants, and other Management Staff.
He said the bank was ready and willing to learn from the experience of NHIS process.
Arc. Dangiwa said FMBN is in the process of migrating its manual operations to digital, saying that there are immense learning opportunities from the e-NHIS electronic platform that is transforming the entire operations of the health insurance sector in the country.
“FMBN’s business operations have been largely manual over the 30-years existence of the Bank. When we came on board in 2017, we quickly noticed that this was unacceptable and embarked on an aggressive drive to fix it. We have made some progress, but the biggest is that we eventually secured Government approval to deploy a Core Banking application that would help us go fully digital. We are inspired by your successful deployment of the-NHIS platform, it’s nationwide applicability, and would like to work with NHIS towards ensuring the successful deployment of our system too”, Arc. Dangiwa.
The Executive Secretary/CEO Prof Nasir Sambo on his part assured the management of FMBN of the scheme’s readiness to partner with the Bank towards knowledge sharing in the spirit of inter-sectoral collaboration and partnership.
The meeting featured a detailed presentation by the NHIS ICT Team on the e-NHIS platform and questions from the FMBN Team.
